WestGate’s innovation ecosystem brings together government, university, industry, and nonprofit organizations to drive R+D and new job growth. WestGate’s technology strengths include artificial intelligence/machine learning, trusted microelectronics and hypersonics. These strengths enhance our national security and offer opportunities for dual-use applications in commercial markets.
Artificial intelligence is a cross-cutting need in each of NSWC Crane’s mission areas, with significant dual use potential for commercial markets. Particular strengths exist in sensor data fusion, modeling and simulation, and data processing.
NSWC Crane’s national leadership in microelectronics creates big opportunities for participants in the WestGate ecosystem. Key strengths include:
- Robust supply chain
- Verification and reliability testing
- Radiation-hardened microelectronics
- Radio frequency microelectronics
- Advanced packaging
NSWC Crane is a hub for hypersonics and drone activity and home to the Joint Hypersonics Transition Office (JHTO) Systems Engineering Field Activity. The Field Activity helps the JHTO coordinate the DOD’s portfolio of hypersonics capabilities and technologies.
